Roxbury Branch Library
Utile, 2020. Utile’s renovation of the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library included a curved, three-sided children’s story space. As a backdrop to the seating area, I illustrated a nature scene where animals inspired by the library’s Nienkämper stools can be seen enjoying their own story time. A deer and moose browse through bookshelves in a pine forest, a fox at the edge of the forest stands next to a raccoon with its nose in a book, and past the desert plains and sandy shores, a squid rides a wave while reading a book as it heads towards a confrontation with the USS Constitution.
